Another delightful handcarved bandgrind, or band heddle, decorated with the quintessential Swedish folk symbol--a heart. Handcarved and signed by master Swedish woodworker Åke Erlandsson. When I was in Sweden in August 2026, I learned that Åke, at 90-years-young, had decided to pass his craft onto the next generation. These are some of the last rigid heddles handcarved by Åke.
