When I first learned to weave, I had a warping board. They have their merits, but I struggled mightily with the first step: where and how to hang it? Enter the warping mill. Not only is it freestanding, it completely transformed the warping experience for me. Fast! Comfortable! Now winding a warp is my favorite weaving task.

This smooth-turning tabletop warping mill has a 2.5 meter winding circumference (just over 8 feet). You can easily wind a 15 meter warp (16.5 yards); more with narrower bouts. It comes with two crossbars for those of you who want to wind a cross at both ends, allowing you to wind a warp half the width and twice as long.
