Better Loom for tablet weaving
A collaboration between expert tablet weaver, Gudran Polak, and master woodworker, Don Betterley, the Better Loom solves your tablet-weaving twist problems and more. This innovative little loom consists of a "front beam" and a "back beam" with your tablet-weaving warp stretched between. Anchor your warp at the front, hang the weighted warp ends off the back, and twist be gone!
The ingenious back beam with metal spring serves as a warp separator, and its smooth surface ensures that even the finest threads won't catch. Clamp the beams to any table surface with Don's elegant J-clamps, or mount the beams to a board for portability. A 3 mm layer of cork on the bottom of each beam protects your table. Don uses sustainable hardwoods and adds a turquoise inlay design to the front beam. Gorgeous in both function and form.

Better Loom includes front beam with metal anchor bar, back beam, four J-clamps, and a plastic band clip to secure your warp to the front anchor bar.
Front beam: 9" x 2.75"
Back beam: 11" x 2.75" x 6" high
Handcrafted in Northern California
I use a range of items to weight my warps. Weighted wooden tama from BraidersHand in Oregon are my favorite. You can also use S-hooks, fishing weights, washers, pill bottles filled with coins, etc. You can weight multiple card "warps" together, but be mindful of groups of cards that share the same twisting patterns. For example, cards that always turn forward should be weighted separately from cards that can turn forward and backward.
