These stainless steel metric reeds will serve you valiantly for your weaving life--and loyally onto the next lucky weaver to rule your loom. Precision-made and finely finished edges and ends. Sturdy. Metric reed designations give you the number of dents per 10 cm. A 40/10 reed has 40 dents per 10 cm, or 4 dents per cm.

My favorites? The 30/10 (wool blankets), 45/10 (cottolin towels), 50/10 (rosengång), and 70/10 (16/2 cotton towels). Consult your favorite Swedish (or Norwegian or Finnish or Dutch) weaving draft for your next metric reed need.

Conversions:
A 40/10 metric reed corresponds to a 10 dent per inch reed.
A 60/10 metric reed corresponds to a 15 dent per inch reed.
A 50/10 metric reed closely, but not exactly, corresponds to a 12 dent per inch reed (conversion is 12.7 dents per inch).
