Norwegian coverlets--and their curators--are having a moment! This book is one of two major book projects documenting regional coverlets in Norway to hit museum shelves in 2024 and 2025. I am so pleased to offer both to you.

Vevd Farge-Glede documents the coverlets of the southern Norwegian region of Vest-Agder. Full of gorgeous photos of these woven gems (they spark color joy!), the book discusses materials and dyes alongside cultural practice and significance. The second part of the book focuses on seven different weave structures and styles: plain weave, krokbragd, goose eye, square weave, rya, skillbragd, and danskebrogd. Text in Norwegian but we are lucky the book includes English summaries of each section.
